Security is very important especially in this day and age when thousands of websites get hacked a day.  Baking in some time during development to run vulnerability scans is extremely important when building enterprise-level websites with a lot of advance features and require a lot of interactivity from the user.

I’ve used Detectify to scan multiple websites we have worked on and found it to be an excellent tool in any developer’s arsenal.  What I like is that it is very easy to use, easy on the eyes, and if it finds a problem, it provides you with ways to fix it including code snippets!

What’s even better is that there’s a 14-day trial to test out the software.  First create an account and then link the website to the account which can be done in various ways  such as adding an HTML header tag, upload a file to the root directory, or modify a DNS setting if the website is already live.  Once that’s all set, you just click on a button and wait for the results to come in.  Phenomenal!
