Youtube has provided me tons of information. I find that following how-to’s and tutorials (especially sending up systems and environments) on Youtube tend to be easier (and more engaging) than reading documentations or following some tutorials on a website.
Interestingly enough, not only do I use Youtube to lookup solutions and how-to’s when solving specific problems.
Here are some Youtube channels I follow to keep me up-to-date with what’s new in web development. I typically will watch these channels while eating instead of just watching mindlessly watching TV.
Here are some Youtube developer “celebrities” I follow and try to catch a video from time-to-time depending on the topic being discussed. I have found myself watching a few Youtube developer personalities on my free time to see their opinions on topics such as the mindset, lifestyle, culture, and day-to-day of a typical web developer. It’s interesting to see their perspective which sometimes are a lot different from mind and is fascinating to see how developers who work in different parts of the U.S. have different perspective on things. Just be-careful since sometimes, I feel the content being discussed and the opinions of the “celebrity” may be for entertainment value. Always, do your own research and have your own opinions.
